In Cambodia 60 percent of people live on farms and in villages. 35 percent live in poverty, making only 2-3 dollars per day. Many of the people included in the poverty rate live in ram shacks and huts in the country, most of which do not have running water or electricity. It is not uncommon for a single room to be shared by 6-10 people. Prek Ampil is a tourist destination in Kampot, off the coast of Koh Toch. This is a large tourist destination because it has beautiful white-sand beaches with resort hotels. The humidity there allows for palm trees to grow and for many plants to thrive.
